Initially a group of around ten businesswomen who met informally to talk about the ups and downs of business life in the West, the Women In Business Network was incorporated in 2008 as a non-profit network for business women in the western region of Melbourne. The WIB Network has grown to a membership of over 200 in less than two years and is run by a volunteer committee.
The network provides monthly events in different municipalities in the Western region of Melbourne, to enable businesswomen to meet and network with likeminded women.
Women in Business Network provides a resource hub encompassing networking, information and support for:
- Those who are considering going into business and would like to explore business opportunities and seek advice from those already in business
- Those who seek to work in industries that have traditionally been male dominated
- All businesswomen, inclusive of budding entrepreneurs, business owner and those who are in the workforce
The mission of the Women in Business Network is to give the business women of the western region a stronger voice in the development of business strategies in the region.
